The first mystery is the underground labyrinths, whose galleries extend for more than 7 kilometers in total.
The best known of these is the underground complex associated with Hotepsekhemwy, the first pharaoh of the Second Dynasty, whose burial place has never been conclusively identified.

The second mystery is the shaft of Amen-Tefnakht - a place that is almost beyond comprehension.
The shaft is nearly 30 meters deep and measures approximately 8 by 10 meters. At the very bottom lies an enormous sarcophagus, yet no mummy was found. Seeing this place inevitably raises many questions.
The third mystery is the South Tomb of Pharaoh Djoser
Here we encounter a similarly intriguing story: a shaft descending approximately 30 meters underground, with a sarcophagus at the bottom - yet Djoser’s mummy has never been found.
The fourth and perhaps most fascinating mystery of Saqqara is the Serapeum
Deep underground, 24 massive monolithic stone sarcophagi were discovered, some weighing 50 tons or more. Several are remarkably smooth and polished, with precisely worked interior surfaces and sharp angles. Their extraordinary scale and craftsmanship continue to raise many questions.
Entering the Serapeum creates an almost otherworldly feeling - as though you have stepped into another dimension.
