I recently discovered an amazing place in Egypt that I’d never even heard of before - the famous jasmine fields in Gharbia Governorate.
And now I want to show you not just an excursion, but a true journey that lets you feel the atmosphere of this place in all its beauty.

Departure before dawn
To catch the most magical time of day, we set off early in the morning. It’s at dawn that the fields are especially beautiful, the air is filled with the scent of jasmine, and everything around is quiet and peaceful.
A walk through the jasmine fields
We greet the first rays of sunlight among the blooming plantations, enjoy incredible views, take beautiful photos, and get to know the life of local farmers.

Visiting an essential oil factory
After the walk, we head to the production facility, where we’ll learn the entire process of turning freshly picked flowers into essential oil and jasmine absolute.
Egyptian jasmine is considered one of the best in the world. Its essential oils are exported to Europe, India, and other Asian countries for use in luxury perfumery.
The story of the jasmine village
We’ll learn how a small village in Gharbia Governorate became one of the world’s jasmine capitals.
It all began in 1960, when a local resident brought seedlings from France. Today the jasmine plantations cover more than 350 hectares, and the annual harvest exceeds 10 tons of flowers.
For local residents, jasmine remains the main source of income and an important part of life.

After the excursion, you can buy natural essential oils and jasmine-based products directly from the producers.
Breakfast and return
We wrap up the program with breakfast and head back to Cairo at around 11:00 AM–12:00 PM.
For me, this place turned out to be much more than just beautiful fields.
It’s a chance to slow down, feel a connection with nature, breathe in the scent of jasmine at dawn, and see the real Egypt that’s rarely shown to tourists.
