Siwa Oasis, the richest and most beautiful oasis in Egypt, boasts a huge number of hot and cold thermal springs, as well as genuine salt lakes.
A journey to Siwa is a special kind of program - the oasis has long attracted various conquerors, though few were ever able to reach it

One such fortunate figure was Alexander the Great, who not only made it to Siwa but also received confirmation of his divine origin at the Temple of Amun - one of the most famous oracles in the ancient world of the time

The program in Siwa is designed for 2 full days and includes:

  • swimming in the oasis’s healing springs
(salt lakes and hot and cold thermal springs)
  • a visit to the ancient fortress-city of Shali
  • photo stops at the oasis’s most beautiful spots, such as Fatnas Island at sunset, Mount Dakrour with its panoramic view of the whole oasis, and a valley of shells over a million years old
  • the Temple of Amun, home to the ancient oracle, and the tombs of the nobility
  • a jeep safari through the Libyan Desert, part of the great Sahara
  • sandboarding in the desert
  • a swim in a freshwater lake and a hot spring in the middle of the desert
  • an optional overnight stay at a desert camp and watching the sunrise in the desert

The program starts from Cairo; travel time is about 10 hours each way

We often suggest combining the trip to Siwa Oasis with Alexandria on the way there and Marsa Matrouh on the way back, which breaks up the 10-hour drive and makes the journey more comfortable

During the summer season, from May to October, a trip to Siwa can be combined with a beach getaway at the “Egyptian Maldives” resort. This resort on the Mediterranean coast has incredibly beautiful beaches, with snow-white sand and azure water that really does resemble the Maldives
