Most of Aswan’s landmarks are located on islands.
On Philae Island rises the elegant Temple of Isis - one of the gems of Egyptian architecture - and directly across from it lies the forbidden island of Osiris, Bigeh

The program can be arranged so you stay overnight at a guest house on Bigeh Island and watch the evening show at the Temple of Isis

In Aswan, be sure to see the famous High Dam, 111 meters tall - one of the symbols of modern Egyptian history, a majestic structure that tamed the waters of the Nile and changed the country’s destiny
Nearby rises the Egyptian-Soviet Friendship Monument, shaped like a stone lotus flower, with a viewing tower offering a panoramic view of Aswan

On Kalabsha Island, I recommend visiting the rare Nubian temple dedicated to the god Mandulis. It’s one of the few temples rescued after the flooding of Nubian lands caused by the creation of Lake Nasser

On the east bank, you can visit the famous granite quarry and the Unfinished Obelisk, along with the stunning Nubia Museum and the Nile Museum

And, of course, a felucca ride on the Nile at sunset, a visit to Elephantine Island, Kitchener’s Island and its botanical garden, and a stop at a Nubian village

On request, the Aswan program can be combined with a trip to Egypt’s southernmost point, Abu Simbel, where two majestic temples carved into the rock stand in the desert stillness on the shore of Lake Nasser
