The Holy Family left an indelible mark in Egypt, and we invite you to explore signature programs through Egypt’s most extraordinary Christian holy sites

The program is designed for a period of 1 to 4 days, depending on your city of departure

We visit the places where the Holy Family stayed while fleeing from King Herod

This can be a one-day tour in Cairo, which includes:

– Coptic Cairo (Babylon of Egypt) and its oldest churches, some of which were built on the sites of caves where the Virgin Mary and infant Jesus once hid

– the Tree of Mary

– the Church of the Virgin Mary, home to a unique Bible

If you choose a longer tour, the program starts in Cairo and then travels along the Nile, where you can visit places such as:

– the monasteries in the Wadi El Natrun valley

– the Monastery of the Virgin, located on Gabal al-Tayr (Bird Mountain) in Minya

– the ancient Church of the Virgin Mary, built by Empress Helena in 328 AD

– Al-Muharraq Monastery, where the Holy Family stayed the longest, for six months, and where the infant Jesus once lay on the church altar

– the village of Abu Hinnis, home to the Well of Jesus, still there today

– a monastery known as “the House of Mary” in the village of Abu Hinnis

– Deir el-Adhra Monastery in Durunka, where the Holy Family stopped on their way back out of Egypt.

In this case, overnight stays can be arranged at monasteries or hotels in nearby towns
