There’s an interesting theory about the origin of the word “Copt.”
In earlier times it may have sounded like “Coptah” - under the protection of the god Ptah, one of the most ancient gods of Egypt.
And if you look deeper, it becomes clear that there’s an invisible connection between the temples and the monasteries.
Moreover, the monasteries included in the program literally preserve elements of ancient temples - in their walls and columns.
The program includes:
- the ancient city of Akhmim and the Temple of the god Min
- Sohag and the Temple of Athribis, dedicated to the goddess Repyt
- the Red Monastery and the White Monastery
