легенда о сехмет

In the Golden Age of Pa’ut, humanity dwelled in divine harmony - beneath the eternal light of Maat, the embodiment of cosmic order. There was no death, no division between the sacred and the mundane, and no time at all
Every breath people took was steeped in the sacred wisdom of the gods, and the earth itself resonated with their unspoken mantras

But suddenly a desire ignited in people’s hearts to surpass their own destiny - divine power no longer seemed like enough to them, and they dared to rise up against the Great Sun God, whose light gives birth to life from his sacred tears

In his deep sorrow, the radiant ruler summoned the entire pantheon of celestial spirits to council, appealing even to ancient Nun - the primordial ocean of existence - whose words, filled with wrath and primal power, echoed across the very facets of creation

In that sacred moment, golden Hathor - the blessed goddess of love, music, and joy, whose melodies and dances celebrate fertility and maternal compassion - plunged into a transcendent flame of transformation
From her glowing heart, the lion-headed Sekhmet was born - mistress of cosmic retribution, whose destructive force carries a purifying purpose: her fury, like a burning star, fell upon humankind to restore the shattered sacred balance and return the world to its original harmony

Sekhmet’s wrath fell upon the earth like an untamable solar flame. Fields ran red with blood, cities burned, and nothing could calm her fury - neither the pleas of the priests, nor mountains of offerings

Majestic Ra, creator of life and guardian of balance, watched this horror with a heavy heart
Determined to stop the destruction, he sent down from the heavens a flood - not of water, but of red wine, to stain the earth crimson
When Sekhmet set foot on this blood-red ground, her lion’s gaze felt fear for the first time: in the mirror of the wine, she saw her own boundless fury

In their fear, the gods sent a sacred company to her - a troop of baboons, the favored creatures of Thoth, god of wisdom
These wise animals approached Sekhmet unarmed, bearing only a gentle gaze and soft words
They sang to her of balance, of mercy, and of how true strength lies in creation, not destruction
Their voices, like a soft breeze amid the flames, gradually cooled her fury

Softened, and now aware of her true mission, Sekhmet withdrew into the misty expanses of Nubia, where her divine flame died down into a warm glow
And when the time came to return, she appeared to the world not in the guise of merciless punishment, but as Hathor - goddess of love, music, and compassion

And so ends the legend of Sekhmet: even the most untamable rage can find peace through wisdom, compassion, and the eternal order of Maat
